On the 26th of September, Voronezh State University and the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) signed a collaboration agreement aimed at opening a joint "Business Communication in Economics: the German Language" Master's programme in Philology. The agreement was signed during the visit of a delegation from Martin Luther University led by Prof. Christoph Weiser – Head of the Institute of Economics of the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences.
The project participants are the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, the Department of German Philology; the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences of Martin Luther University, the Institute of Economics; Philosophical Faculty II, the Department of Speech Studies and Phonetics of Martin Luther University.
"Business Communication in Economics: the German Language" is designed for students specializing in the German language, taking into consideration the strong economic ties between Germany and the Voronezh region. The Master's programme is intended to develop competence within the linguistic aspect of business communication, including the fundamentals of production economics, such as business organization and planning, marketing and sales techniques, financial and business accounting, controlling, office administration, records management, and commercial correspondence.
Students spend the second and third semesters of study, including industry-focused practical training, at Martin Luther University. The first and the fourth semesters are at VSU, and the Master's thesis is also written there.
The Programme graduates receive a VSU diploma, a certificate of completing a one-year course at Martin Luther University, as well as a certificate of completing an internship programme in a German company.
