On 19th December, VSU Rector, Professor Dmitry Endovitsky held a video conference with the administration representatives and lecturers of Higher School of Image and Sound, CES (Madrid, Spain). Elena Chupandina, First Vice-Rector – Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Natalia Zhurbina, Head of the Department for International Cooperation, Vladimir Tulupov, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Elena Topilskaya, Head of the Department of Public Relations, Maria Pivovarova, Authorized Faculty Representative for International Affairs, as well as Aleksey Bogatyrev, a co-founder of the Wizart Animation School, participated in the meeting on behalf of VSU.
The main aim of the video conference was to discuss possible forms and areas of cooperation between higher educational institutions in the field of journalism as well as the issue of organizing a joint Master’s programme in the field of sports journalism which is particularly topical due to the forthcoming Football World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Dmitry Endovitsky emphasized the importance of such an area of international cooperation between higher educational institutions as double degree programmes. VSU has considerable experience in the successful implementation of joint programmes together with its partners from Austria, the USA, France and Germany. Such experience and high professionalism of the lecturers from the Faculty of Journalism who are able to cope with challenging tasks make an unbeatable combination for the success of the future project.
Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Director General of CES, emphasised that Spanish lecturers are interested in cooperation with their colleagues from the Faculty of Journalism, VSU.
Both sides discussed the conditions and the main requirements for the implementation of Master’s programmes in Russia and in Spain and agreed on a second video conference in 2015 in order to specify details of the programme of cooperation.
