On September 28 and 29, Prof. Oleg Golichenko (the Central Economic Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow) and Dr. Mohsin U. Khan (Zaheer Science Foundation, India) visited our university within the framework of the Joint Research Laboratory for Social and Economic Processes System Modelling of Voronezh State University and Central Economic Mathematical Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences.
After the formal meeting with the university representatives – Oleg Belenov, Vice-Rector for Economics and International Cooperation, Tatiana Davydenko, Vice-Rector for Innovations and Technology Commercialization, Elena Chupandina, First Vice-Rector – Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Irina Schepina, Associate Professor at the Department of Information Technology and Mathematical Methods for Economics, and Meria Solosina, a PhD student – Dr. Mohsin U. Khan gave an open lecture in English on the "Government's role in innovation promotion in the developing countries of Asia, and particularly in India" for the master's degree students of the Faculty of Economics. The faculty also took part in the discussion. After the lecture Dr. Mohsin U. Khan answered some questions on the Indian economy and its role in the economy of Asia. It was a good chance for our students both to take part in a real scientific discussion and to practice English.
On September 29, there was a meeting at the Faculty of Economics discussing the prospects of research collaboration, as well as writing joint scientific articles and organising internships.
The visit resulted in a memorandum of cooperation between Voronezh State University and Zaheer Science Foundation. Tatiana Davydenko says that partnership with an Indian research foundation broadens our opportunities both in the spheres of research and international activity.
