On 22 October, the award ceremony for the National creative writing completion for students organised by the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation was held in the Pushkin State Museum (Moscow). The competition was dedicated to the Year of Literature in Russia and was carried out with the support of Gorky Literature Institute.

The event gathered students from all over Russia: the Moscow, Leningrad, Tambov, Orenburg, Voronezh regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan. A representative of Voronezh State University – a third year student of Philological Faculty Ekaterina Strelnikova became the winner in the nomination "Literature critics".

The jury and presenters of master classes that were held in the week before the award ceremony congratulated the winners. The award ceremony had several categories: 'Poetry', 'Prose', 'Literature critics', and 'Playwriting'. The winners received certificates and souvenirs. Famous Russian musicians and winners of National and International competitions participated in the award ceremony. The winners were pleasantly surprised by a talk from a people's artist of Russia, a laureate of the Literature and Art Prize of the Government of the city of Moscow Antonina Kuznetsova.

The participants in the event also met the writer Zakhar Prilepin who gave a talk on his vision of Russian literature and Russian history and answered the students' questions. At the end of the meeting students had a chance to get the writer's autograph and take a photo with him.
