Students of Voronezh State University became the four-time winners of the Contest of Programmes for Student Communities Development in the institutes of higher education organised by the Ministry of Education of Science of the Russian Federation. The goal of the contest is to develop student councils and enhance the role of student communities in the process of modernisation of higher education.
This year, 218 Russian universities submitted their applications for the contest. The Ministry of Education and Science and winning universities will conclude agreements stipulating federal budget financing by means of subsidies that can be used to develop students' self-organisation bodies, to enhance involvement of students in the process of decision-making with regard to the university's educational, research and innovation activities, to enhance integration of the university into professional communities, and to develop social and cultural life.
The contest has been held four times and each year VSU has won. This shows a very high level of development of student organisations of our university and efficient work of the Joint Students' Board that cooperates with all of them.
