From 1 December 2013 until 30 November 2016, Voronezh State University has been involved in the implementation of an international Tempus project on the Evaluation of Quality of Cooperation in Education Ecosystem as a Mechanism for Building Professional Competencies (E3M).
The project participants on the part of VSU are the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Mechanics, the Faculty of Computer Sciences, and International Project and Programme Centre.
E3M project is coordinated by JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyväskylä, Finland). Among other participants of the E3M project are the University of Girona (Spain), Nizhnevartovsk State University (Nizhnevartovsk, Russia), Plantijn University College (Antwerp, Belgium), Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (Spittal an der Drau, Austria), Academy of Labour and Social Relations (Moscow, Russia), Gerzen's State Pedagogical University (Saint Petersburg, Russia), network "SPACE" (Brussels, Belgium), Jykes regional development company (Jyväskylä, Finland), and the Agency of Educational Strategies and Initiatives (Bologna club) (Rostov-na-Donu, Russia).
E3M project is aimed at developing collaboration between higher educational institutions and organizations representing the labour market for graduates, as well as at resolving issues connected with the reformation and modernization of education, particularly the introduction of the competency-based approach to education.
Within the E3M Tempus project "Assessment of Cooperation in Education Infrastructure as a Professional Competence Development Mechanism" the international workshop "Introduction of the best European practices of cooperation between Russian universities and labour community" was held in Academy of Labor and Social Relations (Moscow, Russia) between 12–16 October.
Among the participants of the workshop were representatives of the partner universities from Finland, Austria, Belgium, Spain and Russia. Voronezh State University was represented by a lecturer of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics and international activity coordinator at the Faculty E.M. Arustova, an Associate Professor E.L. Shishkina and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Computer Sciences Associate Professor A.V. Sychev.
The workshop started with a business meeting of the consortium members which included discussion of the workshop programme and the project as a whole, their format and the expected results. During the first day of the workshop European partners gave their presentations. The second day the floor was given to experts of state bodies of legislative and executive power, trade unions and business organisations. The third day was dedicated to discussing the results achieved by universities within the Tempus project, as well as discussing progress reports and plans of action.
During the next meeting the results were announced and certificates awarded. The event was concluded by visiting the Employment Centre of the Northern-Eastern district of Moscow and discussing issues of cooperation between universities and businesses.
