On November 11th, a public lecture took place in the "Amital" book supermarket as part of the project called "A Large University for a Large City". This time the lecture was given by Dmitry Lyubashevsky, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, lecturer at the Faculty of Physics, who told the audience about "Truth and secrets of the Large Hadron Collider".
Illustrating his lecture with a slideshow. Dmitry Lyubashevsky spoke about the current tendencies and problems in Physics, the research objectives, and the way our everyday life depends on new discoveries.
The most interesting part of the lecture concerned the Large Hadron Collider, its history, the experiments, and the role of VSU students in these experiments. Dmitry Lyubashevsky also agreed to support a research project by a group of pupils from the Gymnasium named after N.G. Basov.
