On 27th November, a training workshop for the volunteers from the Voronezh Region was held in the Regional Youth Centre. The event was organised by Voronezh Centre for Education and Youth Projects' Development together with the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, VSU. Over 50 people representing various volunteer organisations in Voronezh took part in the seminar.
VSU was represented by the lecturers of the department: the Head of the Department, Professor Irina Berezhnaya, a senior lecturer Svetlana Popova, and postgraduate students Maksim Kostyuchenko and Nikolay Sereda. During the seminar the participants discussed current problems of the volunteer movement: the activity of volunteer organisations, the sources of funding and the problems of volunteer base development in the Voronezh Region.
The participants shared their experience in organising volunteer work in different areas as well as in foreign countries and expressed their ideas about attracting young people to this kind of activity. In future such events are planned to be held on a regular basis.
