"IT projects are in great demand now. We all can feel it – both the developers and the professional community as a client. Russia needs its own innovative IT developments. In the past there was a barrier between the appearance of the idea, its development and the beginning of the project funding. Now the situation is changing. It proves that the Russian market can turn to Russian IT developments again."

"I'm glad to welcome the Skolkovo Foundation at VSU. The main topic today is information technologies. We have a lot of developers, companies' training centres and IT faculties. VSU houses corporate training centres of such companies as Atos and T-Systems. Such competitions as we have today open doors to the talented people, provide the motivation for self-fulfilment and help the academic community of the region to organise itself in the IT field", noted VSU Rector, Professor Dmitriy Endovitskyy in his welcoming speech addressing the participants of the event.

Several representatives of Voronezh State University became the finalists and winners of the prestigious competition "IT in the Black Soil Region". The projects of the VSU students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Ilya Kapranchikov ("Hardware-Software Complex for the Cultivation of Transplantable Tissues") and Konstantin Fisenko ("Information Tactile and Temperature Feed-Back System in Myoelectric Prostheses"), reached the final in the nomination "Information Technologies in Health Care". "IT in the Black Soil Region" is very different from other similar events which I have participated in because it is an extremely prestigious venue for defending your project. This competition can really help to make any development a reality", noted the competition finalist Konstantin Fisenko, a VSU student from the Faculty of Computer Sciences.

"Taking part in such competitions is a serious motivation for further work on the project, it helps to find drawbacks and mistakes in the project and see possible ways of development. Next year I'm going to participate in the competition again and win", the competition finalist Ilya Kapranchikov, a VSU student from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, said.

It should also be mentioned that during the meeting with the VSU Rector Dmitriy Endovitskyy Sergey Shubin, the Director of IT Projects Development at the Information Technologies Cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation, supported the project to develop an educational laboratory facility "VSU Information Technologies Centre" which will be the core of the future IT cluster in the Voronezh Region.
