Nobel Prize laureate's belongings presented to the VSU History Museum

On 13th March, VSU History Museum received – as a gift – personal belongings of Pavel Alekseyevich Cherenkov, a Nobel Prize laureate in Physics and a VSU graduate. The ceremony was attended by lecturers and post-graduates of the Faculty of Physics, as well as other VSU staff members and guests.

Professor Cherenkov's daughter Elena donated two of her father's typewriters (with Russian and Latin lettering) to the Museum. Anatoly Bobreshov, Head of the Faculty of Physics, professor Evelina Domashevskaya, Head of the Department of solid-state physics and nanostructures, and Larisa Batyutskaya, Sssociate Professor at the Department of semiconductor physics and microelectronics told the others what they remembered about Professor Cherenkov's life and work. They pointed out the huge impact of his research on the technological progress.

By the end of the ceremony, it was decided to enlarge the exhibition dedicated to Pavel Alekseyevich Cherenkov.
