The head of the Department of Information Procession and Protection Technologies of Voronezh State University professor Aleksandr Sirota has been awarded a prize of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation for the best research paper: the monograph "Information processing in space-distributed radio monitoring systems: statistical and neural network approaches" that was published in 2012 in Moscow by the publishing house FIZMALIT. The co-author of the paper is the Head of the Department of Military Academic Centre of Air Force named after N.E. Zhukovskiy and Yu.A. Gagarin's Air Force Academy Eduard Kirsanov.
The competition for the best research papers written by personnel assets of the bodies of military administration and military units and organisations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as permanent staff, associate professors and postdoctoral students of Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation is held annually upon the decree of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation of 2008 №245 "On organisation of competitions for the best research papers in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation".
