On 17th April, in the yard of the Faculty of Law was held an opening ceremony of an unusual art object – a bench called "Wise as Solomon".
VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitskyy addressed the audience with the words of welcome:
'Among the graduates of the Faculty of Law there are many successful people, but this is for the first time that a VSU graduate makes such a gift to the University in gratitude for the knowledge and skills obtained here. The sculpture is made in form of a book that is a symbol of knowledge. I am sure, students of the Faculty of Law will make up some tradition connected with this bench'.
The idea of creating such an art object was introduced jointly by the Faculty's administration and Borodin & Partners attorney firm.
'The cultural heritage of Voronezh is growing, and we hope that this bench will become part of it. We've been partners and friends with the Faculty of Law for a long time. This bench is the present for the 55th anniversary of the Faculty. The name is simple and easy to understand: "Wise as Solomon" bench is a place for creative and devoted students, and we are glad that most students at the Faculty are like this', - said Sergey Borodin, the managing partner of the Borodin & Partners attorney firm, former graduate of the Faculty.
The sculptor is Maxim Dikunov, a Voronezh artist famous for his other sculptures such as angels near the Blagoveschensk Cathedral in Voronezh, the monument of Dmitry Venevitinov, and the sculpture of a kitten Vasiliy from Lizyukova Street – a well-known Russian cartoon character.
