From 14th–17th April, a Voronezh State University delegation including Yury Bubnov – Vice Rector for Strategic Administrative Management and Viktor Nenakhov – the Dean of the Faculty of Geology paid a visit to the university academic training base in the Republic of Adygeya. During the visit a number of questions with regard to accommodation for students doing their practice training, accommodation purchasing, water supply, and electrical network modernisation were discussed.
'VSU has acquired 4 hectares of land in a unique location where we are planning to create a training and leisure base. We have concluded an agreement with Southern Federal University that will allow us to use their communication lines at the starting stage. We are planning to modernise the water supply and fit our university's academic and training base with water lines. Our students will live in comfortable trailers for three or four people with toilet and shower facilities,' said Yury Bubnov.
'It is a unique place that has everything we need for practice training for students of the Faculties of Biology and Soil Sciences, Geology, History, Geography, Geoecology and Tourism. The academic training base has a very interesting location with complicated geology. It is situated in a mountainous, wooded area, with downward soil changes, and diverse flora and fauna, and a very interesting ethnographic history. After doing their practice training in this area the students will learn more about their profession and field investigation conditions. It is of great importance. Students of the Faculty of Geology can do different types of practice training in each narrowly-specialised activity,' said Viktor Nenakhov.
A number of field laboratories and ecological paths for ecological problems and geological outcrops study are planned to be created on the territory of the VSU research base.
