On 12 May, VSU opened the International Forum "Education and culture in CIS – development prospects" held in the framework of the international project "Cultural Centres of CIS". In 2014, CIS Heads of State Council chose Voronezh as the CIS Cultural Capital – 2015.
Within the forum the Rector of Voronezh State University Dmitry Endovitsky and Vice-Rector for Economic Development and International Cooperation Oleg Belenov met with an expert in problem-based learning Declan Kennedy (University College Cork, Ireland), representatives of the International Management Department at the FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences, (Graz, Austria) Claudia Linditsch and Rupert Beinhauer and the Deputy Director of national office Erasmus+ Anna Muravieva.
Dmitry Endovitskyy told the guests about the history of VSU and joint educational programmes implemented together with its foreign partners:
'Programme Tempus allowed VSU to become the second university after Moscow State University within the university consortium that switched to the two-level educational system. Our university has very strong ties with the University of Applied Sciences of Graz - we run together a joint Master's programme "Business in the Emerging Markets". We have to strengthen our educational and scientific partnerships. By doing so we assist in the development of our countries,' said Dmitry Endovitskyy.
He also emphasized the contribution of Declan Kennedy to development of the problem-based learning concept that has become the foundation for the federal standard FGOS 3+.
'The goal of every university is to provide their students with the best education. Such events are very important as they bring us closer to this goal. I am happy to assist in development of cooperation between our countries and to make my own contribution to this forum', said Declan Kennedy.
In her turn Claudia Linditsch talked about cooperation between VSU and FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences and about their joint project Unique and said that it advances closer interrelation between university employees and students.
The forum "Education and culture in CIS – development prospects" was followed by the workshop "Creating education programmes on the basis of the results of education process".
