From 25 April to 9 May in the framework of the project "Modernising European Language Teaching through the Introduction of Online Technologies in the Process of Teacher Training" (544161-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR Aston University «Developing the Teaching of European Languages: Modernising Language Teaching through the development of blended Masters Programmes») a training workshop was held. The event took place in partner universities – Uzbek State University of World Languages (Tashkent) and Samarkand State University of Foreign Languages. VSU was represented by Associate Professor Elena Chaika (Department of English Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Voronezh State University and Associate Professor Marina Scherbakova (Department of German Philology).
During the workshop workgroups with participants from all ten partner universities (Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Great Britain, Germany, and France) presented results of their work on the methodological content of modules that comprise the Master's programme "Foreign Language Teaching with application of online technologies" that is being developed within the project.
The project supervisor Dr Susan Garton (Aston University, Birmingham, Great Britain) was satisfied with the results of all workgroups. The materials of the workgroup of the main module of the Master's programme "Teaching Foreign Languages with Modern Technologies" headed by Elena Chaika were recognised as the most insightful and practice-oriented.
As a result of the trip cooperation agreements with Uzbek State University of World Languages (Tashkent) and Samarkand State University of Foreign Languages were signed. VSU representatives and the rectors of these universities discussed cooperation issues: implementation of joint scientific projects, joint publications in prestigious journals and the strengthening of academic exchange between the universities.
