Between 12 and 14 May, VSU held the International Forum "Education and culture in CIS – development prospects" within the framework of the international project "Cultural Centres of CIS". The forum was organised by the Council of Rectors of the Voronezh Region and Voronezh State University.
Among the participants were lecturers and heads of international relations offices of higher education institutions in six federal districts of Russia, as well as lecturers from Austria, Croatia, Latvia, Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Transnistria.
The rector of VSU professor Dmitry Endovitsky opened the Forum and welcomed the participants. He pointed out that the Forum is a very important event that will help to establish and develop international collaboration and partnership in the sphere of education on a large scale.
The programme of the forum included lectures by Declan Kennedy, expert in problem-based learning (University College Cork, Ireland); Claudia Linditsch and Rupert Beinhauer (International management Department at the FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences, Austria); Hana Horak, «InterEULawEast» Tempus project coordinator, Head of the Department of Law at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb (Croatia); and Anna Muravieva, the Deputy Director of national office Erasmus+ in the Russian Federation. There were also workshops on developing and implementing international projects (by the example of Tempus and Unique projects of ЕС Erasmus+).
Declan Kennedy also conducted a workshop "Creating education programmes on the basis of the results of education process", where he described the education methods and methodologies used in 30 countries within the Bologna Process that forms a common education system at universities in different countries. Declan Kennedy pointed out that in order to take part in international projects, the CIS education institutions need their education systems to comply with a common standard, but still keep the specific features of every university. After the workshop Mr.Kennedy handed out the participation certificates.
The final part of the Forum included an Advanced Training Programme for university lecturers "International scientific and education projects – Education quality management" with lectures by the members of the International Cooperation Department and VSU lecturers. All the participants received participation certificates.
The aim of the Forum is to create a good atmosphere for economic and political partnership, for developing cultural cooperation between the CIS countries, and for promoting collaboration in the sphere of science and education.
