On 17 May, the VSU International Education Institute and Department of Culture of Voronezh Government held the XI International Festival of National Cuisine.
The Festival attracted over 300 participants and visitors. 24 teams took part in the competition: 12 VSU teams, 5 Voronezh State Agricultural University teams, and a team from Voronezh State Pedagogical University. There were also dishes cooked by the representatives of the Georgian and Azerbaijanian communities, students of Voronezh Law College, Voronezh vocational school No. 53, and Semiluki orphan boarding school.
The jury consisted of professional cooks and representatives of the Department of Culture of Voronezh Government, OAO Voronezh Confectionery, and the VSU Faculty of International Relations. The task of the jury was not an easy one – to try over 70 national dishes of 23 countries and choose the best ones. The winners were the VSU team of Vietnamese students. The VSU team of students from Thailand were second, and from Iraq third. All the participants got certificates and various prizes.
