On 21 May, the citizens of Voronezh, including the Rector of Voronezh State University Dmitry Endovitsky, took part in the national event "Bike to work".
The professor cycled along Moskovsky prospekt – one of the central avenues of the city – together with a VSU lecturer Pavel Boiko, and an activist of VeloVoronezh group Yevgeniy Kondratiyev.
'Cycling to work charges you with energy and positive emotions. This kind of exercise encourages you to be active during the whole day. The drivers are very considerate of the cyclists, so I did not experience any problems with the traffic. I will definitely do it again. But to start with, I need to do a simple thing – to buy a bicycle. My son often talks about it. He often gets to work in this way. I think I will join him very soon', said Dmitry Endovitsky.
The national event "Bike to work" was supported by about 300 Voronezh citizens. As of Wednesday, 20 May, 227 Voronezh citizens registered to take part in the event. All in all, the list includes 45 cities with the number of participants exceeding 10 people. Among the three leaders were Moscow with 2,588 cyclists, Saint Petersburg (1,029 people) and Izhevsk (277 participants registered).
