On the eve of the International Children's Day the Voronezh regions branch of the Russian Children's Foundation thanked those who had helped to organise the fundraising marathon "Children for children", including Voronezh State University. Larisa Diakova, a leading specialist of the Department of Pre-university Education of the Educational and Methodological Administration of Voronezh State University, received a letter from the Russian Children's Foundation expressing gratitude for her contribution to improving the lives of children.
On 31 May, the Russian Children's Foundation organised charity performances in four Voronezh theatres: the Drama Theatre, the Puppet Theatre, the Children's Theatre, and the Theatre of Opera and Ballet. It was a present for families with many children, orphans, adopted children, and those who helped to organise the marathon.
The marathon started in the beginning of 2015. Since then talented children have been giving concerts, making handicraft items, and organising fairs. The funds raised were used to help those who need help most of all. For example, in some cases the money was spent on buying a medical exerciser or special orthopaedic footwear, or to pay a medical specialist for a consultation.
