On 29 June, Voronezh State University held a presentation for representatives of medical and pharmaceutical industries. The goal of the event was to develop partnerships with businesses and organisations of the real economic sector as well as healthcare institutions of the Voronezh Region and the Central Federal District. Traditionally, the presentation session was organised by the VSU Innovations and Entrepreneurship Administration.
The Faculty of Pharmaceutics of VSU was the headliner of the presentation session. The Dean of the Faculty, professor Aleksei Slivkin, offered the guests an opportunity to judge the cooperation prospects in education, scientific and innovation industries. He also presented a wide range of innovation projects aimed at creating new pharmaceutical forms and medicinal products.
Introducing new medicinal products to the market is not an easy process. It requires a thorough and time-consuming research. Nevertheless, the projects of the Faculty of the Pharmaceutics of Voronezh State University attracted a lot of interest from the participants of the event. Special attention was paid to the projects on creating new diabetes therapeutic systems for pancreatic diabetes treatment by an Associate Professor Nina Diakova and projects on creating a pharmaceutical product for tissue regeneration stimulation by a postgraduate student of the Faculty of the Pharmaceutics Pavel Fedosov. Pavel's work has received national recognition and has been presented many times at a few international events.
The VSU guests had a chance to learn more not only about the Faculty of the Pharmaceutics, but also about the Faculty of Computer Sciences, the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences, the Faculty of Physics, and the Faculty of Chemistry and their programmes and research. The participants of the event visited a number of the university laboratories, the Centre for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment and other innovation facilities.
The programme also included a presentation of the best projects by the scientists of Voronezh State University in the fields of medical equipment, pharmacists, and medical products production. One of the most notable speakers was an Associate Professor of the Department of Solid-State Physics and Nanostructures Ksenia Aleinikova. Her developments in the area of identification of amorphous substances are much demanded by our Western colleagues. A number of other developments demonstrated during the presentation session can also be put into practice in the nearest future. For example, representatives of the Voronezh Regional Clinical Diagnostic Centre showed interest in the «Galen» medication control system developed by the Department of Digital Technologies.
The presentation was concluded by the round table «Innovations in medicine and pharmaceutics: challenges and prospects» and celebration of the Career Day in medical and pharmaceutical industries. During the meeting Vice-Rector for Innovations and Technology Commercialization Tatiana Davydenko and Deputy Head of the Innovations and Entrepreneurship Administration Igor Svertkov, and the participants of the event discussed possibilities for cooperation, attracting federal subsidies for implementation of joint innovation projects, and possibilities of establishing fundamental departments at enterprises.
In the framework of the Career Day representatives of Human Resource Departments of companies in medical and pharmaceutical industries had a chance to tell the students about jobs and vacancies within their companies and answer the questions of the university graduates.
It should be mentioned that such events boost VSU reputation as a leading innovation centre of the Central Federal District and also promotes partnerships with businesses and organisations of the real economic sector.
