On September 4th, our University held a video-conference master's dissertations defence for students studying on the double degree programme "International tourism management" conducted jointly by VSU and the University of Marne-la-Vallée. This is evidence of our good partnership with the University of Marne-la-Vallée. The programme has been functioning for 8 years now.
The examining committee included Natalie Fabry, the supervisor of the programme, Sylvain Zegny professor at the University of Marne-la-Vallée, Oleg Belenov, Vice-Rector in Economics and International Cooperation, Natalia Zhurbina, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Elena Alexeeva, the programme coordinator and the Head of the Department of French Philology, and Maxim Kirchaniv, professor at the Faculty of International Relations.
The defence was held both in Russian and in French. Here is the list of this year’s graduates:
- Kristina Blokhina (the Faculty of International Relations), dissertation theme – "Methods for revenue management in a certain business"
- Yulia Sheveleva (the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology), dissertation theme – "Designing new tourist routes for Russian-speaking clients in France"
The examining committee said that the dissertations were on a very high level, and the problems discussed – today's management and marketing problems in the area of territory development – are very urgent both for Russian and for France. Our French colleagues were quite impressed by the level of French shown by Russian students.
The committee also discussed some questions concerning further partnership. Oleg Belenov invited Natalie Fabry to give a series of lectures on place marketing for our students.
