On Saturday, 12th September, the closing ceremony of the School for Student Activists was held at the Venevitinovo recreation facility. Five days of the event were dedicated to the following topics: circus skills, acting skills, dancing, photo&video, voice-training and basics of organisational management.
Among guests, speakers and workshop presenters were: Irina Romanova who gave a lecture on time management, goal-setting and team-building; Kira Semchenko who talked about project work and strategic project management, and Andrei Pyrinov who carried out a photo workshop. The staff of Voronezh university also presented their lectures to the school participants. For example, a photographer of the Infrastructure Performance and Problem Solution Administration Dmitry Chernov talked about basics of photojournalism, a leading specialist of the Student Affairs and Social Development Administration Aleksandra Nazarova shared her tips on fundrising and basics of project work, and the creative director of the School for Student Activists Marina Vrublevskaya gave a lecture on the upcoming "Spring" and "First Year Student" festivals.
Many university students and graduates supervised different activities. The director of the VSU performance company Top Rate Aleksei Goncharov supervised the dancing section, a student of the Geological Faculty Mikhail Solodin and a graduate of the Faculty of Computer Sciences Aleksandr Sopnev worked with the photo&video division, a student of the Geological Faculty Anna Semenova was in charge of the singing section, and a graduate of the Philological Faculty Arina Muchiy talked about business communication and etiquette.
Moreover, this year a few famous people visited the School for Student Activists: actors of the theatre "Unison" Irek Ibatullin and Elena Mariakhina, a people's artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Zarina Khubayeva, the ex-director of the Russian Student Spring programme Anastasia Makhnakova. The guests shared their experience with the participants and talked about the tricks of the trade.
The school programme was very intense – the participants got up at 7am and had a unique exercise session developed by Andrei Smirnov. The students' day was full of lectures, workshops, evening activities, and business games and left them with almost no free time. Late in the evening they met their team mates and shared their impressions of the day.
Many students confessed that the School for Student Activists was one of the most memorable events in their lives and regretted that they could only take part in it once. They are sure that the knowledge and skills they obtained at the School will help them a lot in their career and hope to put on a black T-shirt of organisers of the School for Student Activists–2016.
