Our Rector meets the Head of the Department of the Russian Language of the University of Dakar

On 29 January, the Rector of Voronezh State University Dmitry Endovitsky met the Head of the Department of the Russian Language of Cheikh Anta Diop University (Dakar, Senegal) Dr Fall Sidy Khoya. It should be noted that Dr Fall Sidy Khoya graduated from the Faculty of Philology of VSU in 1985. This year he visited his Alma Mater again and took part in IV International  Research and Methodology Conference “Issues of Philology for Foreign Students”.

The participants of the meeting discussed possibilities of cooperation between the universities.

‘The Russian language is very popular in our university. However we have to practice it more. I always tell my students that if they want to learn Russian they must go to a country where it is spoken. Voronezh State University has done a lot for Senegalese specialists in Russian philology. Many of them studied here,’ said the guest.

During the meeting, professor Endovitsky and Dr Fall Sidy Khoya made an agreement on participation of up to 40 students from Senegal in traditional VSU Summer Schools. The students will have a chance to take part in various cultural and educational events. Voronezh State University will also organise semester advanced training courses for the academic staff of Cheikh Anta Diop University.
