On 9 November, a vacancy fair for the senior students of sciences and technical faculties was held in the auditorium of the main building of Voronezh State University.
The event was opened by Marina Tscherbakova , the Head of the Centre for Career Development at VSU.
‘Our centre is aimed at helping students and graduates to find their place in the professional world and to learn how to plan their career and to achieve their goals. We offer information, consulting, and career guidance which are designed to help students to adapt to the contemporary labour market, to acquire self-presentation skills, and to establish good relations with their employers.
Representatives of the Molodezhnyi employment centre told the participants about problems of the regional labour market and demonstrated a comparative table describing workforce supply and demand on the labour market of the Voronezh region. For example, 36 law vacancies have 252 applicants, and 32 vacancies in economics have 331 applicants, whereas there are only 12 people who would like to fill one of 95 available vacancies for medical assistants. Staff members of the Kamelot newspaper, one of the leading newspapers of the region explained how their job search website functions.
The first speakers on the part of employers were representatives from DataArt. If you know the basics of programming and speak English well, you can apply for a position at DataArt, an outsourcing software company that specialises in Internet applications, corporate databases, and industrial automation tools.
Representatives of PAO Lukloil-Chernozemieneftprodukt described the advantages of working for their company, including the high salaries, social security programmes for employees and pensioners, health care and insurance programmes, and the possibilities for career development.
