On 1 December, Voronezh State University held a video conference with Shandong University in Jinan (China), where at that moment our delegation were headed. The delegation was headed by Oleg Belenov, Vice Rector for Economic Development and International Cooperation. The video conference opened the second day of the forum “Russian language – areas of education” organised by VSU at Shandong University.
Professor Dmitry Endovitsky, VSU’s rector, welcomed Li Jiangang, Director of the Institutie of Foreign Languages, as well as teachers of Shandong University and two foreign language schools:
“I’d like to congratulate you on the beginning of our fruitful partnership. We understand that a new Russian Language Centre opened at your university, together with the promotion of the “Russian Virtual Classroom” online platform, which is yet another opportunity to make Chinese pupils and students interested in the Russian language, literature, and culture. And I am really grateful to you for helping us. I’d also like to share some great news with you. Today, the Times Higher Education published the BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings. VSU was included in the Top-300 list for the first time, so I am sure that you will find our collaboration both interesting and beneficial. You are all welcome here, at Voronezh State University!”
Our researchers had an opportunity to visit their colleagues in China thanks to a grant won by VSU as a part of federal target programme of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for 2016–2020 “Russian Language”.
