Double degree programme with High Institute of Commerce of Paris

On 17th February, a meeting between the University administration and the French Counsellor of International Economics, the President of the International Commission MEDEF Philippe Verbert was held in the main building's auditorium. The purpose of the meeting was to sign an agreement between VSU and High Institute of Commerce of Paris on establishing and implementation of the double degree programme General Management within Executive MBA professional retraining. Among the participants of the event were the Head of Voronezh administration Aleksandr Gusev and heads and representatives of such major companies of the Voronezh region as Angstrem, GK Hamina, Voronezhselmash and others.

‘This meeting is an event of great significance for Voronezh State University. It is our first double degree programme with an international partner, and, importantly, with such an influential player in the European market – High Institute of Commerce of Paris. It is a new page in the history of Voronezh State University. The General Management programme has been approved within the European educational market. It is also a targeted programme as it is aimed at a specific audience, namely, top managers’, said Elena Chupandina, First Vice-Rector, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of VSU.

‘I am sure that nothing can interfere with the development of cooperation between Russia and France, and neither sanctions, nor embargo can stand in the way of knowledge exchange. Any enterprise eager to succeed needs highly qualified specialists. Our joint programmes with Voronezh State University are intended to resolve this problem,’ said  Philippe Verbert.

The parties signed the agreement and discussed issues concerning establishing of an International Academic Council that would include representatives of Russian and French education authorities, municipal and regional authorities and representatives of Russian and French enterprises. Philippe Verbert was elected as the Chair of the Council.

After that, the Head of VSU Business School Svetlana Klinova presented the school's main areas of focus and the Head of the Department of French Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology and the Director of the Regional French Centre Elena Alexeyeva talked about the experience of cooperation between Voronezh State University and educational institutions of France and spoke in detail about the new academic programme.

The goal of the international programme is to provide further training for top managers, develop new competences and encourage further development. The duration of the course is one year (six months will be dedicated to theoretical studies and the other six months – to the externship). The graduates of the programme will get two diplomas: of VSU and of High Institute of Commerce of Paris. The language of the course is Russian and French.
