On 17th February, History Museum of Voronezh State University opened the World’s Art Masterpieces exhibition as part of the series Treasures of Regional Scientific Library. Specialists of the Fiction Department of the Regional Scientific Library chose for the event the most outstanding, unique and impressive exhibits.
Among them were books and albums on the history of world and Russian pictorial art, that explain peculiarities of different genres and reveal mysteries of great works by Leonardo da Vinci, Pieter Rubens, the painter of happiness Auguste Renoir, Salvador Dalí, Paul Cézanne, Nikolai Rerikh, Ivan Shishkin, Ilia Repin, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Marc Chagall, Orest Kiprensky, Kazimierz Malewicz and others. One of the exhibition sections – A Tour of the Tretyakov gallery – provided a unique opportunity to visit one of the largest museums of Russia and the world that celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2016. The exhibition included replicas of the museum’s famous paintings.
The exhibits presented at the VSU exhibition are not only rare but also unique. The visitors have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy exceptional works of art. Thanks to this spectacular event students could learn more about diverse and unique book collections that differ both in content and design. Most of them are real masterpieces of printing art.
