On 12th March, the “IndiGo” social club volunteers took part in a grand-scale reforesting event in the area of Kozhevenny Kardon of the Voronezh region that was organised as a part of the Zdorovy Les (Healthy forest) project. Over 90 people participated in the event. A few hours of well-coordinated work resulted in an area of 2.5 hectares being planted with approximately 8,000 pine and birch saplings.
It is not the first conservation event that VSU social club has taken part in as it is their primary field of concern.
‘Such events help us make people aware of important environmental problems and help restore the “green lungs” of our planet. It is amazing how much you can do for your planet just spending a few hours of your time,” said a student of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology and IndiGo activist Dmitry Safonov.
