Our university celebrates International Francophonie Day

Traditionally, Voronezh State University celebrates International Francophonie Day (Journée internationale de la Francophonie) – a holiday of the French language and Francophone culture that unites more than 150 million people of the world and has been celebrated since 20th March 1970. On 29th March, the Regional French Centre of Voronezh State university organised a festival and a contest dedicated to the French culture for students of Voronezh universities. The event took place in Nikitin library.

Students from several universities took part in the event. The Head of the Department of French Philology and the Head of the Regional French Centre Elena Alexeyeva in her welcoming speech said that it was love for the French language and art that united and inspired everyone present. Beautiful songs, poems, theatre performances in French, and choreographic pieces to French music touched the hearts of the audience. The atmosphere was lively and festive. The hosts of the concert - second year students of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology – made everyone feel cheerful and joyful. The festival programme consisted of about 30 performances, each of which was creative and unique.
