On 15 April, a teleconference was held between the Rector of Voronezh State University, Dmitry Endovitsky, and Stephen Hagen, an outstanding graduate of our university, an education expert of the European Commission, and a professor of the University of South Wales (Great Britain) who is dealing with the issue of creating the British Alumni Association.
At the request of the British graduate of our university, Dmitry Endovitsky told him about the recent events affecting the regional system of higher education, about VSU’s achievements in introducing innovative projects, about international cooperation, and about new global international projects which VSU has been participating in, including the Tempus project conducted in collaboration with the EU. Dmitry Endovitsky offered Professor Hagen to join the Board of Trustees of Voronezh State University, and the British expert accepted the invitation with great pleasure. He also showed his willingness to take part in the meeting of the Board on 12 May 2016.
Stephen Hagen told the VSU Rector that the process of creating the British Alumni Association has been launched and that its Facebook page is being set up.
'I have connections with British universities and commissions that organise internships in Voronezh. That is why I expect to get in touch with many VSU graduates in Great Britain. We have to work out a development strategy for the Association and agree on the schedule for a number of events. We are ready to provide all the necessary support to the Association. We just need to renew our contacts,' said Stephen Hagen.
