On 24 April, Voronezh State University held the second Open Day in 2016. This time over 2,500 prospective students and their parents visited our university. The participants of the event had a chance to meet the deans and academic staff of 18 university faculties located in 7 university buildings.
The deans of the faculties told the audience about the educational opportunities and future possibilities that a degree from Voronezh State University offers to graduates. Prospective students learnt about the new programmes and specialities trained at VSU. The information was very timely – the admission campaign for 2016 starts in just few weeks. The reason why prospective students find the new master's, bachelor's, and specialist's academic programmes attractive can be explained by developments in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and information technologies that require graduates to have a high quality of fundamental education that is offered by classical universities.
The programme for the Open Day also included the ceremony of awarding certificates to the prize-winners of the 31st conference of the VSU student scientific society. The pupils of 7–10th forms also had a chance to take part in the event. Participation in the Open Day allowed them to timely adjust their strategy of preparing for university.
Having listened to presentations by faculties, the prospective students had a chance to obtain detailed information about VSU’s admission rules at the Department of Pre-university Education. It should be noted that each year, more and more regions are represented at the Open Day. This time the event was visited by prospective students from Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Belgorod regions. At the same time there was an increase in the number of pupils from Rostov, Tula, Tambov, Orel, and Kursk regions.
