Master's students of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology receive certificates from Aston University

On 28 April, in the conference hall of the main building of Voronezh State University master's students from the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology doing a programme in Pedagogical Education received certificates from Aston University ((Birmingham, UK). The ceremony was hosted by Elena Chupandina, the first vice-rector for Academic Affairs and Oleg Belenov, the vice-rector for Economics and International Cooperation.

In her welcoming speech the vice-rector, Elena Chupandina, emphasised how unique and timely the double degree programme is, which was launched at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology in 2015. The programme opens a lot of opportunities in the European educational environment and provides the students with a competitive advantage on the labour market.

The vice-rector, Oleg Belenov, explained that cooperation with Aston University will develop and lead to the creation of a double degree programme.

The certificates were given by Dr Nur Kurtoglu-Hooton, the director of Master's Degree Programmes in Linguistics at Aston, and an expert of the Tempus project "Developing the Teaching of European Languages: Modernising Language Teaching through the development of blended Master Programmes". Before handing over the certificated she expressed her gratitude to the VSU rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, for his support of the project and of the pilot master's programme that was developed at Voronezh State University. Dr Nur Kurtoglu-Hooton also paid special attention to the contribution to the Tempus project implementation by the head of the working group, the vice-rector for Research and Informatisation, Vasiliy Popov, the head of the master's programme, Natalia Fenenko, and lecturers of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, who were members of the working group for the VSU Tempus project.
