The most creative audio and video projects chosen by the University

On 13 May, the final stage of the 7th International University Contest of Audio and Video Projects, REC’ORD – 2016 was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Voronezh State University.

In addition to the contest itself, the university students from all over Russia were given an opportunity to take part in workshops organized by renowned media experts, as well as experienced practitioners and academicians in the field of contemporary radio and TV journalism: Natalia Gaag and Marina Tsukanova (Voronezh) – “Student Radio to a Tee”, Sergey Ilchenko (Saint Petersburg) – “Online TV: the Modern Approach”, director Alexey Shilov (Moscow) – “The Aided Eye: a Sportsman's Sketches”. The participants were especially interested in a workshop set up by Anton Degtyarev (Director General of STS-Media – Voronezh), which focused on discussing the contemporary media environment and its directions of growth.

The jury members included: TV journalist Pavel Selin, Head of the Department of TV and Radio Broadcasting of Saint Petersburg State University Sergey Ilchenko, TV editor and Head of the Media Office Julia Lyubanovskaya, director Alexey Shilov, Head of the Creative Planning Department of the Gubernia studio Olga Kologriviva, TV and radio presenter Larisa Diakova, Head of the Department of Journalism and Publishing of G.R. Derzhavin Tambov State University Ekaterina Zvereva, a journalist of Voronezh public TV and radio company Sergey Synorov, Director Valeriy Zaborovskiy, and Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television Julia Oganesova. The jury was led by the Dean of the VSU Faculty of Journalism, Vladimir Tulupov, while the head of the organizing committee was the Head of the Department of the Television and Radio Journalism of Voronezh State University Professor, Alla Shesterina.

Overall, over 100 projects were sent in to take part in the contest from more than 40 Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Naberezhnye Chelny, Veliky Novgorod, Saratov, Tomsk, Kazan, Togliatti, Ufa, and Tambov. Moreover, there were applications from Belarus, Afghanistan, and Turkey. There were a total of eight nominations: “Journalism” (radio program, television program), “Outside the Framework” (creative audio and video projects), “Best University Radio”, “Best University TV”, “Network” (online audio- and video projects), and “Best advertising project” (promotional video, presentation film, etc.). Projects from the students of Voronezh State University were present in almost every nomination.
