Alexey Lukin, professor, DSc in Agriculture, the Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology of Voronezh State Agricultural University, who supervised the filed tests of the “Solid Water” gave a talk at the seminar:
‘‘”Solid Water” is a water-retaining sorbent which is a kind of organic sponge that looks like a granule that is placed into a seed bed together with seeds. This sorbent can be used for absolutely all kinds of cultivated cultures. A starter dose of the sorbent is 20 kilograms per a hectare, including seeds. According to tests’ results, in such conditions the yield gain can be up to 25 percent. It is recommended to add the sorbet to the soil once a year. It was designed for zero-tillage technology, that is why it can remain in soil for up to 10 years and moisten it for 4–6 years,’ explained Alexey Lukin.
Professor Lukin also mentioned that today a joint team of researchers from Voronezh State University and Voronezh State Agricultural University has completed reconnaissance experiments and are getting ready for the next step – extensive field tests.
