According to the results of the 2016 ranking, Voronezh State University takes 1759th position among the universities of the world. It also showed better results than some federal and national research universities of Russia and became 18th among Russian universities. Compared to the previous results, our university has improved its position and has moved up 146 places among world universities and 2 places among Russian universities.
The ranking is published twice a year – in January and July. Its methodology is based on 4 indicators of different significance: visibility (the number of links from other sources), presence (total number of web pages, according to Google), excellence (the SCImago data on the most cited papers) and openness (total number of PDF files according to Google).
The ranking started in 2006 and is now the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions. The aim of the ranking is to promote academic web presence and increase the transfer of scientific and cultural knowledge generated by the universities to the whole Society.
