The official website of Voronezh State University is a dynamic system that is constantly under development. On September 1st, the redesigned version of the VSU website was presented at the Conference Hall of the university.
The rector, professor Dmitry Yendovitsky, opened the meeting.
“Today is a very important day for everyone here. It is the first day of a new academic year. And today we are glad to present the redesigned website of our university. We’ve been working on this project for quite a long time. Why did we decide to do it? First of all, we had analysed the statistics about where school graduates got information about our university from. Most of them used our website. The second major source of information was the mass media. The university’s website and web presence have a key role in promoting VSU and strengthening its academic reputation”.
The presentation itself was given by the head of the Information Technology Administration, Alexey Prokhorchenko. He told the audience about the changes the website had undergone:
“We’ve been working on the new design for about a year. The major advantage of the new version is its responsive web design allowing for adequate content display depending on what device is used: a mobile phone, a tablet, or a PC with a high-res monitor. We’ve also modernised the website: it now has a dynamic slider, animations, and embedded videos. Another new feature is the news section, which now allows for setting priorities and sorting the news. And if you click any announcement on the site, you can see a preview of the event and get more details. There is also now a Gallery with high-quality photos depicting university life.”
Alexey Prokhorchenko also introduced the members of the team working on the VSU websites – Evgeny Ryzhkov, Elena Prokhorchenko, Alexey Kurakov, Nikita Susoev, and Dmitry Ruban.
After the presentation he also answered questions from the audience. VSU staff and students say they like the new design of the website which is now more convenient and user-friendly.
