On September 6th, the ranking of the top Russia universities in 2015–2016, according to the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, was published.
Our university takes 24th position, which means that it has moved up by 21 positions.
The ranking has been published since 2004, and includes 75 universities participating in the scholarship programme of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation. It is one of the most recognised and objective university rankings in Russia. In 2013–2014, the Foundation also began publishing a special ranking for evaluating master's degree programmes.
This ranking is based on the following parameters: an expert assessment of master’s degree students participating in the scholarship competition, the results of the grant competition for the tutors of master’s degree programmes, a contest of socially-oriented projects, and participation in the Vladimir Potanin Foundation School. One of the ranking criteria is the ratio of the master’s degree students participating in the scholarship competition of the foundation (the number of participants and the number of winners), as well as the number of university representatives participating in the Foundation School and the credits they got.
The Vladimir Potanin Foundation evaluates the IQ and the level of general knowledge of the students, i.e. the qualities that demonstrate the competitiveness level of the university’s graduates, their learning capacity, social position, and their willingness to learn more, as well as the degree of attention the university pays to the faculty.
Starting with 2015, the Foundation has also been publishing progress rankings depicting the progress of each of the universities in the main ranking over several years. VSU takes 21st place in this ranking.
