On 18 May, the second day of the international forum "European Higher Education Area: Ways of Development”, the president of the Association of European Studies, director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and an expert in European studies and international relations, Alexey Gromyko, was awarded with the title of the Honorary Doctor of Voronezh State University.
He was awarded the gown and a badge of honour for serving Voronezh State University for his impact in the development of European studies in Russia and support of European studies carried out at VSU.
Alexey Gromyko expressed his gratitude to the university’s administration.
“We’ve been working together in order to develop the university, the European studies, and enhance scientific and academic partnership between Russia and Europe. And we already have achieved a lot. I see this honorary award as a recognition of the achievements of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Association of European Studies, which includ over 400 scientists from all over the country. I will do my best to make VSU’s partners aware of the research conducted at your university. And I will make sure that the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Association of European Studies will also play a great role in it.”
