Voronezh State University has improved its positions in the National university ranking according to the information agency Interfaks. Last year, VSU became 27th among the leading classical universities of Russia (excluding federal universities and research institutions). According to the results of the 2016/2017 academic year, VSU has moved to the 24th place. Among the participants of the ranking were 264 Russian universities which is 26 universities more than the previous year.
Interfaks launched the project in 2009 to develop and test the new mechanisms of the international assessment system for Russian universities. The institutions’ activities are assessed by six parameters: education, research, social environment, international and interregional cooperation, innovations, and university brand. The data is based on the published materials about universities’ activities, profile data gathered by Interfaks experts, the university monitoring results by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and the results of the analysis conducted with the help of the system of comprehensive news analysis (SKAN-Interfaks).
