On 10 July, the opening ceremony of the construction site for a plant by a German pharmacy company, Bionorica SE, took place in the Maslovsky industrial park.
Among the participants of the ceremony were the governor of the Voronezh region, Aleksey Gordeev, the chair of the board of Bionorica SE, Michael Andreas Popp, the rector of VSU, Dmitry Endovitsky, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutics, Aleksey Slivkin, and representatives of regional authorities.
Bionorica SE is a world leader among manufacturers of herbal medicines. The company combines data from herbal medicine and modern research in pharmaceutics and invests a lot into research and development.
Additionally, the event became another step on the way of uniting the academic community with industrial enterprises. It also led to a partnership agreement which was signed between Voronezh State University and Bionorica SE. Among the priorities of the cooperation will be the development and the implementation of joint fundamental and applied research in science, education, and innovations, creation, and implementation of joint fundamental and applied research projects. Moreover, company employees will have an opportunity to advance their qualification in VSU and the university’s students, in their turn, will do their practice training in the enterprise. The Bionorica SE administration is also planning to establish corporate scholarships for the university’s students.
Another important aspect of the agreement is the creation of the Industrial Pharmacy master’s degree programme at VSU, which will be enhanced by practical courses presented by Bionorica SE specialists. The university is planning to open the master’s programme and to recruit students for it in 2018.
