The university develops the collaboration with China

On 14 May, representatives of Voronezh State University met a delegation from the People's Republic of China. The delegation included Chairman and President of Rubber Valley Group Co, Ltd, Zhang Yan, Deputy General Secretary of the Chinese Association of Chemical Education, Xin Xiao, Deputy Director of the science and research bureau in Qingdao, Zheng Shan He, and Deputy Head of the administration of the scientific and technical research valley, General Director of the high-technology area in Suzhou, Den Hui. The delegation visited VSU as a part of the International Conference and Contest “Innovations in Chemistry and High Molecular Compounds Technologies, which was headed by Zhang Yan and took place in VSU between 14 and 16 May.

The guests were welcomed by the rector, Dmitry Endovitsky. He told them about the university, its history, activities and cooperation with Chinese universities and organisations.

‘VSU has been involved in active cooperation with Chinese partners. It has signed cooperation agreements with over 30 Chinese universities. Since 2002, 2,500 Chinese specialists have completed internships at our university. VSU has opened a Centre of Russian language in three Chinese universities. Our specialists have recently visited Power Electronics Centre in China. The visit was supported by our representative office in China.

Dmitry Endovitsky presented the innovative developments of the university's scientists.

After that, the members of the delegation had a meeting with the provisional governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, the provisional deputy governor of the Voronezh Region, Evgeny Yurchenko, and the provisional first deputy head of the Government of the Voronezh region, Artem Verkhovtsev. Among other participants of the meeting were the Rector of Voronezh State University, Dmitry Endovitsky, and the General Director of AO Voronezhsintezkauchuk, Ilia Korzhenovsky.

At the beginning of the meeting Alexandre Gusev emphasised that Voronezh State University has a solid humanitarian foundation and meets all the requirements for the development of business cooperation with China.

‘We have long-standing friendly relations with the People's Republic of China. This year, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the twin-city relations between Voronezh and Chongqing. To commemorate these relations we are building a park of friendship between Russia and China in the Central Park for Leisure. I want our relation to develop not only in humanities but also in the area of economy,’ said the head of the region.

He also noted that the region has favourable conditions for the development of the oil chemical business.

Zhang Yan said that the Chinese party is interested in research and innovative developments by the Voronezh specialist.

Dmitry Endovitsky informed the provisional governor that VSU and the Chinese delegation are involved in an active discussion regarding the possibility to create a butadiene research technopark in the university.  Among other plans is to open one more VSU representative office in China, in Qingdao. Today, VSU has its representative office in Beijing.

The leading specialists of Rubber Valley will complete their advanced training at VSU.

During their stay in Voronezh, the Chinese delegation visited AO Voronezhsintezkauchuk.
