Between 27 and 30 November, a student from Borisoglebsk branch of VSU, Natalia Akhtyrskaya, took part in the 3rd Summit of Student Leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation participant countries which took place in the Altai Krai and the Republic of Altai at the year-round resort “Manzherok”. Among the participants were 100 young leaders from 6 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation participant countries: China, Russia, Khazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kirghizia, and Uzbekistan. They spent two days visiting master classes and lectures and taking part in discussions in the key areas of student organisations’ activities.
Prominent figures of the youth movement performed the role of experts at the event. They included: Svetlana Astakhova, Deputy Chair of the Council of the Educational Work and Youth Policy in the Educational Institutions of Higher Education of Moscow, expert of the national contest of youth projects of Rosmolodezh; Vrezh Fagradyan, General Secretary of the Omsk international model United Nations and Young peace envoy; and Oleg Tsapko, Chair of the National Student Union, author and head of human rights projects.
“I am glad to have a chance to visit an event on such a scale,” said Natalia Akhtyrskaya. “I’ve met a lot of new people and have had a lot of new experiences. I also acquired useful knowledge concerning the development of project ideas in the area of international cooperation.
