In early December, an All-Russian student scientific and practical conference “Job training for geologists” was held at the Southern Federal University. Anastasia Nazarova, a student of the Faculty of Geology at Voronezh State University, was awarded with the first degree diploma for her talk “Job training at OOO SL Zoloto (technological aspects of refractory ores benefication)”. She presented a new method of gold mining.
“This method is important due to current requirements to non-waste production at mining and processing plants, reduction of ecological load on the environment, and import substitution. Refractory ores are ores and concentrates that cannot be processed using simple methods generally accepted in industrial practice. The main extracted element of these ores is finely disseminated and hard to recover. Mining for precious metals is usually preceded by geological prospecting work. Information about the mineral form and sizes of ore deposits influences the choice of technologies for extraction. My presentation was dedicated to the description of a new method of mining gold from black shale by supergrinding and gold solution. I am grateful to Viktor Nenakhov, my academic adviser and the Dean of the Faculty of Geology of VSU,” said Anastasia.
