The first meeting of the club of international friendship

On 5 April, a meeting of the club of international friendship took place at the Faculty of History of Voronezh State University. The theme of the event was “First dialogue between national cultures of international students”. The participants of the event learnt more about customs of different nations, their poetry, national folk costumes and discussed various traditions.

The event was visited by the members of the National Chamber, Maksat Rejepov and Konul Portnylh, and Vladimir Ivanov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Politology, Viktoria Chernikova. The club of international friendship was organised by Anastasia Tsypushtanova. Among the participants of the discussion were undergraduate and postgraduate students from different faculties of VSU.

During the event they read poems in many different languages: Russian, English, Portuguese, Tamil, and Vietnamese. The participants discussed items of the Indian costume, African headwear, answered quiz questions about nations of the world, and Konul Portnykh showed a national Azerbaijanian folk costume. At the end of the event, all the participants and guests played the national Russian game “Thread the Needle”.
