Deans of faculties discuss coronavirus prevention and distance learning at the university

On 23 March, a meeting of the deans of VSU faculties took place in the main building of Voronezh State University. The university administration discussed the situation concerning the prevention of coronavirus infection and distance learning. It was stated in the beginning of the meeting that all mass events for students are forbidden.

“The situation is really serious. The main idea of the meeting of the governor’s crisis unit which was held on Friday was quite clear: all the restrictions are not just recommendations, they are absolute prohibitions. The discipline will determine how well we will cope with the pandemic,” said VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky.

The university opened a coronavirus hotline: +7 (473) 228-11-70.

Lubov Kolesnikova, the Head of the VSU Academic Board said that deans of the faculties would have to organise distance meetings of academic councils and alter main educational programmes.

“We will have to reallocate the hours for independent studies and their control. The materials and the updated timetable must be published online so that students could understand how they will study,” said Lubov Kolesnikova.
