VSU is among 100 best Russian universities, according to the Academic Ranking-European standard (ARES)

Voronezh State University has been included in the Academic Ranking-European standard (ARES), published by the European Scientific-Industrial Chamber. In the European Standard ARES-2014, VSU ranked one of the BBB+ universities.

In the ranking, there were three grade categories:

  1. The "A" category (AAA, AA+, AА, А+, А) – high quality performance: a high level of teaching, research, and employers' demand for graduates.
  2. The "B" category (BBB+, BBB, BB+, BB, B+, B) – good quality performance: a sufficient level of teaching, research, and employers' demand for graduates.
  3. The "C" category (CCC+, CCC, CC+, CC, C+, C) – adequate quality performance: a satisfactory level of teaching, research, and employers' demand for graduates.

The ARES-2014 university ranking is aimed at evaluating the universities' performance in providing the relevant knowledge, participating in research activities, and interacting with potential employers. Its key criteria include a number of indicators such as: research, international cooperation, employers' demand for graduates, faculty advanced training course level, international recognition, membership in recognized European academies, the university's contribution to the region, using innovative technologies, and the informational support of the training process.

The European Scientific-Industrial Chamber was founded in 1992 in Europe in order to strengthen international scientific, cultural, and economic ties.
