VSU will become a federal platform for the expert discussion of the Middle East problems

On 3rd December, a roundtable discussion under the title "From Conflicts in the Middle East to their Settlement" took place in the conference hall of the main building of Voronezh State University.

The event was held within the framework of the partnership agreement between VSU and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The roundtable discussion opened a series of conferences and seminars dedicated to oriental studies. It is planned to organise such forums biannually as well as to make VSU one of the federal expert platforms for formulating recommendations for the state agencies and business community.

The main focus of the discussion was on the general problems of the countries of the Middle East and their solutions. During the roundtable discussion Irina Zvyagelskaya made a report on the topic "New Tendencies of Development in the Middle East" and Vasiliy Kuznetsov addressed the problems of sovereignty in the Arab world. Other reports were dedicated to geopolitical problems in Israel and Iran.

After the fruitful work at the roundtable the participants continued to discuss the Middle East problems within the seminar on this topic.
