Between September 3rd and 5th, the International conference "Social changes in the global world" was held in Stip (Macedonia). The organisers were the Centre for law and political studies, the Faculty of Law of the “Goce Delcev” University (Macedonia), the Faculty of Law, Political Studies and Criminology of the University of Liège (Belgium), and the Faculty of Law of Voronezh State University. The conference was held within the framework of the partnership programme of VSU and the “Goce Delcev” University. The cultural attaché of the Russian Embassy delivered his welcoming speech for the participants.
Over 30 European universities took part in the conference. VSU delegate Natalia Butusova, professor at the Department of Constitutional Law of the Russian Federation and Foreign Countries and coordinator of the partnership programme, also delivered a speech and presented her report on the history and contemporary constitutional development in Russia.
Olga Sidenko, associate professor of the Department of Sociology and Politology, and Daria Scheglova, lecturer, presented their work on the cultural differences in post-soviet regions (Moldova and Russia). Sofia Zabolotnaya from the Faculty of Philology described her view of the language level in the scientific community, and on the status of Russian and Slavic philology in Macedonian universities.
The prospects for creating a Centre of Russian language, science and culture in the participating universities were discussed.
