Victory Day performances of the university students and staff

Artistic teams and gifted students of Voronezh State University took part in street concerts organised in Voronezh to celebrate Victory Day.

At the invitation of the Department of Culture of the Voronezh Government, international students of Voronezh State University from Montenegro, Congo, Vietnam, Madagascar, Indonesia, Mali, and China gave spectacular national performances on streets of Voronezh. The foreigners were welcomed by applauses from the audience. The performances by foreign students have become traditional and the performers get a lot of help from the staff of the Leisure and Culture Centre of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University.

One of concerts was held on a stage situated near Voronezh State University building № 3 where the folk music group Terem presented the event "Singing Victory songs together".

'We decided to sing our favourite songs about the war. And we wanted it to differ from a usual concert. The idea was that everybody could join in and participate in celebrating the most important holiday for our nation – Victory Day. And it went exactly as we planned it,' said the leader of the group Galina Khristova.

Numerous spectators of different age enjoyed themselves with the folk music group Terem singing together famous Soviet songs: "Katusha", "Roads", "In a doover", "On an unnumbered hill", "A brunette girl", and many others.
