A series of two types of international examinations in the French language was held in Voronezh State University.
At the end of 2015, in accordance with the agreement signed by VSU and the French Embassy, VSU opened the Centre for DELF/DALF International Examinations which are carried out in French. The French Embassy organised the preliminary training and testing of examiners who were granted the right to conduct examinations in various levels of the French language: from A1 to C2. In May, 55 people including schoolchildren, university students, and employees of Voronezh and Voronezh Region enterprises succeeded in passing their examinations at the VSU Centre for DELF/DALF.
In addition, a certification examination was held for the graduates of the bilingual French-Russian department of the I.S. Nikitin Gymnasium with an advanced curriculum in the French language. The Gymnasium is one of VSU's partners, and the examination was conducted at the VSU Regional French Centre within the framework of the cooperation between VSU and the French Embassy in Russia. 16 students of the 10th form demonstrated a very high level of ability with the French language. They defended their projects devoted to the topic “Sports in Society” and were granted DELF diplomas of the В1+ level which enable them to apply to any French university. The certification committee included Elena Alexeyeva, the Head of the Department of French Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology and the Head of the Regional French Centre, Alla Sherbakova, a methodologist of the Regional French Centre, and Sonia Delon, an intern from the University Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (France).
